Types of Dentures

Full Dentures – Complete dentures sit on top of the gums. This procedure replaces of all the patient’s teeth and are traditionally placed 8-12 weeks are the teeth have been removed.

Snap-In Dentures – This type of dentures are typically recommended when the patient doesn’t teeth but has healthy bone to support the procedure. Like the partial dentures, snap-in dentures are removable. They are considered effective and stable due to their effective locator attachments.

Cost of Dentures

Dentures typically range anywhere from $1,200 to $3,000 for full dentures.  Dentures are priced separately. The price will vary depending on the type of dentures. Depending on the patient’s lifestyle, some choose to get very expensive sets made out of custom, high-quality materials. Implant supported dentures are known to have a pricey tag.  A full set can be anywhere from $7,000 to $90,000. According to a survey, the average price for implant-supported dentures is $34,000. In this process, the surgeon will install titanium implants into the gums. Getting this type of procedures requires more than one visit to the surgeon’s office. Because this procedure can go on for months, the patient is offered “immediate” dentures in the meantime.  Immediate dentures are most costly than same day dentures because of the difference in material.

Keep in mind that there are costs associated with the actual denture procedure. Tooth extraction is not included and with time you’ll need to reline your dentures. Relining your dentures is simply the process where your fit is adjusted over time.  This can start as early as 4 months into getting your dentures. Denture adhesives and denture cleaning supplies are ongoing costs associated with dentures. Some patients have to undergo alveoloplasty; which is a surgery where the jawline gets reshaped.
